“2008 has been a fantastic metal year, as you know, and next year is also kicking of with a bang — not just with PRIEST on the road again but we will also be getting METALLICA, AC/DC and tons more bands again. I have also heard that the festivals are going to be bigger and better than ever before so best start saving now for the best seats in the house.
“I just saw CHILDREN OF BODOM, MACHINE HEAD and SLIPKNOT in my hometown; now there is some energy, full-on metal!!! There are definitely some great packages being put together these days. Saying that, please don’t forget to check out PRIEST, MEGADETH and TESTAMENT. In fact this will be the original ‘Painkiller’ touring line up for Canada and North America in 1991, so if you weren’t there then, you certainly can be this time around.

The onslaught of Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue bashing continues

I have known Nikki, Donna and their children for years. I was there for the whole divorce; everything leading up to it, and the aftermath leading right up to today. Was looking for any stories related to Nikki’s 50th birthday party and found this thread. I’ll get back to that in a minute.
Let me first say that after listening to this guy’s (Nikki’s) bullshit for a number of years I have reached the conclusion that he is a complete scumbag. I have given this guy the benefit of doubt at every turn and in the end, he does not care about anyone but himself. His children suffer as a result. His family is an emotional train wreck. Hi ex wives are in shambles. His kids are very troubled. He continually abandons his children emotionally. He has completely abandoned his adopted son, Ryan, who had already lost his biological father to an untimely death years earlier. Donna is no walk in the park, but ultimately she was the ONLY person who ever gave those kids any structure and stability in their lives. I am considering helping her out on her book at this point. I witnessed first hand how Nikki’s daughter, Frankie, has suffered emotionally from the crazy environment these two created. Don’t get me wrong, Donna is not beyond reproach, but I would sooner help her expose Nikki for being a complete loser than continue pretending to be in “nikki’s camp” as it were.
Which brings me back to the 50th birthday party last week. I did not want to go to this party. My significant other urged me to attend. I knew that it would be nothing but a bunch of celebrity starved, ass kissing hangers on; all waiting their turn to talk to “the relic” himself. It turned out I was correct, but there was an added bonus. We arrived and spent some time with his 8 year old daughter, Frankie, who was there ahead of her father’s grand entrance, playing in the upstairs lounge (Boardners) with her friend from school. She told us that she would not be going to school tomorrow because she was going to stay up all night. This poor little girl is so lost. Nikki always seems to find star-fucker parents to latch onto who will volunteer their own children to participate in the circus; this way Nikki’s kids can have someone to play with while daddy plays rock star. Amazing. His youngest son was there as well as his older daughter (all underage). There were performance artist/rope-trapeze/stripper types crawling around the joint that looked like they were on tour with motley last year. There was a slideshow looping on the wall showing Mr. Wonderful at various points in his life. Many pictures were family oriented with either of his exes behind the camera. Many other pictures were of Nikki and his new slut, Kat, canoodling and cuddling and making silly faces. When Mr. Badass finally showed up with slutty he was loaded, slurring his speech and hardly able to focus on what was in front of him. Keep in mind all of his kids were there with him, albeit mostly unsupervised. They were almost two hours late for a three hour long party. We later learned that this was due to slutty taking way too long to get ready. Then the string quintet set up and broke into “dr. feelgood”. I could not make this stuff up. When I got around to saying happy birthday I was not introduced to slutty; I went ahead and introduced myself. Nice to meet you, she said. No name, just nice to meet you. Oh, I get it, I should already know your name because you’re famous. Then Nikki, after realizing who he was talking to, looks at me like a deer in the headlights because I’m one of the ones whom he thinks actually buys into his bullshit and believes he is a good, sober dad. He starts trying to backpedal out of his stupor and shake his senses back to a state of awareness, but it was no use. This is what I drove an hour each way and waited another two hours for. That’s ok, I got what I needed already. You’re still a lying, junkie user with one goal; to be an attention whore rock star. So we quickly made our rounds and got the latest dirt on the prince of darkness; and there is so much dirt to be had.
This guy is a complete psycho. He is not the pillar of sobriety he tries to make himself out to be. Many who are in the program with him say that he does not take his sobriety seriously and has not worked the program for years now. His kids now have to deal with his latest promoter/slut/girlfriend taking over their lives for the foreseeable future and leading daddy around by his penis/needle/bottle or whatever.
Any washed up old hussies trying to relive high school fantasies should wake up. This guy is an old, out of shape, human cesspool who leaves nothing but misery in his wake. My sources are indisputable with regards to the goings on inside the family.
Ughh, I could go on and on, but I think I should save the goods for a published book, quite possibly my own. This is not the only “celebrity” with a narcissistic disorder, whose family is enslaved to, that I have had the misfortune of getting to know. This town, it seems, is full of them.
I wanted to see if anyone else will tell the truth about old Frank.

Rock The Nation America has got some big news for the followers of 2009’s PAGANFEST USA II!
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Rock The Nation is proud to announce the final tour line up of PaganFest USA: Part 2 with two brand new additions to the upcoming traveling spectacle: Finland’s folk freaks KORPIKLAANI as the new headliners, and straight off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, New Jersey’s crazy Pirate Metal drunks, SWASHBUCKLE as the opening party starters throughout the tour!
This years PaganFest USA was a huge success, and according to Rock The Nation‘s manager and KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono:

Like all the things I do in my life, whether I listen to what people say and what people want, there’s no way we would not top this years PaganFest USA with the next one, so we thought of the ultimate line up and went for it! Rumours said that ZZ TOP only were going to play in the city of Karlstad in Sweden during 2009, but nothing could of course be more wrong. It is on Sweden Rock Festival they belong and of course we will give ‘em too you. One of the most legendary rock bands of all times and the most famous beards in rock n roll history!

Could a band be more legendary? We all remember ZZ Top as the band behind the multi-multi-million selling album “Eliminator” in 1983, featuring mega hits “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Sharp Dressed Man”. But let’s not forget that these are merely the tip of the iceberg. This trio has recorded no less than fourteen albums, each packed with unbelievably grooving music of the highest caliber: the bluesiest hard-rock possible, or the hard-rockiest blues possible - either description applies. And in their native US the band were big even in the 70s thanks to such hits as “La Grange” (1973) and “Tush” (1975) - songs that have since been proclaimed immortal by every European rock lover as well.
In 2009, ZZ Top celebrate their 40th anniversary, as always with the original line-up intact: Billy Gibbons (vocals/guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals/bass) and Frank Beard (drums). How many more bands can live up to that? And the world-famous beards on the faces of the former two gentlemen celebrate their 30th anniversary! To celebrate these events, the band will record their fifteenth album with producer Rick Rubin (Slayer, AC/DC, Johnny Cash et al.), and naturally attend SRF for the first time ever. This is definitely one of the most highly anticipated debuts in the festival’s history - not to be missed!
