Ex Guns N Roses drummer released from jail. Still do music video reality TV show?
Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler has been released on bail after he was arrested in Los Angeles for possession of narcotics and for appearing to be under the influence of drugs.
The rocker, who also had an outstanding warrant at the time of his arrest, was detained by cops Friday morning after emergency services were called to a house in Hollywood following a reported disturbance. Adler was released later that day after paying $45,000 bail.
The outstanding warrant for Adler’s arrest stemmed from a 2005 case in which he was charged for being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended licence. The document was issued after he skipped a subsequent court date in April 2006.
Adler, 43, has endured a long and public battle with drugs and alcohol - he recently appeared on US TV show Celebrity Rehab and was scheduled to appear in its spin-off Sober Living.

Slipknot post new Psychosocial music video
"Psychosocial", the new video from SLIPKNOT, premiered last night (Friday, July 18) on MTV’s "F’N MTV" program. Watch the clip below.
In a recent interview with MTV News, SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan stated about the video, "More or less, we have these giant masks that we’re wearing, called ‘purgatory masks.’ They’re like giant death masks, and they represent ego. So the video is based on letting things like that go, and getting back to what we more or less do, which is rock out. With me, the idea was based around going to extremes. I wanted to get a phantom camera, which can shoot 1,000 frames per second; it’s psychotic. Then I wanted to get a 35 mm hand crank, like it’s Vietnam or some sh–. We have both worlds — we have the most extreme on both ends, with nothing in the middle. That’s what the video is, and nobody does that. There’s an art form behind it. The video’s got live performance footage, with serious consideration of location, color and just art, man. It’s pretty awesome."
SLIPKNOT’s new album, "All Hope Is Gone", will arrive on August 26 via Roadrunner Records. The title track was made available last month, while "Psychosocial" arrived at rock radio on June 30.
SLIPKNOT revealed their new masks on July 1 with an exclusive set of photos at Spinner.com. Described as "creepy" and "intricate," some of the nine band members’ masks have changed considerably, while others have been altered only a little.
Frontman Corey Taylor’s mask has undergone the most drastic and disturbing change, now looking like it’s made of "dried human flesh," as MTV.com put it. Crahan has built lots of leather and zippers into his disguise, calling to mind the "Gimp" from the movie "Pulp Fiction", while drummer Joey Jordison has added a crown of black thorns to his design.
SLIPKNOT reportedly rarely cleans their masks, despite the band’s claims that they bleed, sweat and vomit into them during concerts.

New Metallica recording music video footage for rehearsals for upcoming tour posted
New METALLICA rehearsal and performance footage can be viewed below (courtesy of Metallica.com).
METALLICA has revealed the cover artwork for the band’s upcoming ninth studio album, "Death Magnetic", at its official web site. The black and white etching features what appears to be an open grave, with lines emanating out from it and the band’s logo and album title underneath. In an interview conducted in Norway on July 16 by VG TV, frontman James Hetfield explained the meaning of the record’s title, saying, "It started out as kind of a tribute to people that have fallen in our business, like (ALICE IN CHAINS frontman) Layne Staley and a lot of the people that have died, basically — rock and roll martyrs of sorts. And then it kind of grew from there. Thinking about death…just like a magnet, some people are drawn towards it, (and) other people are afraid of it and push away."
Hetfield added, "The concept that we’re all gonna die sometimes is over-talked about and then a lot of times never talked about — no one wants to bring it up; it’s the big white elephant in the living room. But we all have to deal with it at some point."
"Death Magnetic" is due out in September, although an exact date has yet to be announced.
METALLICA recently announced that every song on the album will be available to download for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the same day the CD arrives in stores.
The band is offering the record for sale in numerous configurations, ranging from a digital-only release to a deluxe "coffin box" that will come with a bonus CD, a DVD, a T-shirt, guitar picks and other goodies.
METALLICA is currently on tour in Europe and is expected to begin a North American jaunt in October.
"Breadfan" (pre-show rehearsal) and "Leper Messiah" (live) on July 16, 2008 in Bergen, Norway:

Slash of Velvet Revolver/ex Guns N Roses does Sweet Child of Mind with Fergie in music video
VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Slash joined American pop/R&B singer, rapper and actress Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) on stage at Saturday’s (July 19) nearly sold-out show at Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, California for renditions of GN’R’s "Sweet Child O’ Mine" and HEART’s "Barracuda". According to The Orange County Register, Fergie introduced him: "Some of you little ones may know him from ‘Guitar Hero’, but I know him from a band called VELVET REVOLVER and a band called GUNS N’ (bleeping) ROSES!" The Orange County Register writer Kelli Skye Fadroski added, "At the end of the latter track Fergie did numerous one-handed cartwheels, mic in hand, while singing the last high note of the song — I counted four cartwheels but started to get dizzy. Despite the acrobatics, Fergie should stick to doing what Fergie does best — pop-tart tunes — and stay away from rock."
Fan-filmed video footage of the "Sweet Child O’ Mine" performance can be viewed below.
