Tantric’s "Down and Out" Album Approaching Top 5! On Tour All Summer

Louisville, KY rockers TANTRIC have another Top 10 single on their hands and are approaching Top 5! "Down and Out" jumped up to #7 on the BDS Active Rock Chart this week and continues to gain momentum as the song marches forward at all the Rock Radio formats. "Down and Out" is the first single off Tantric’s new record The End Begins, which is out now on Silent Majority Group/ILG. The End Begins debuted at #91 on the Billboard Top 200 in April.

A big Tantric shout out goes out to Tampa Bay Rays All-Star (and shoe in for Rookie Of The Year) Third Baseman, Evan Longoria for using "Down and Out" as his intro music each time he comes to bat at home games.

Background on Tantric: Tantric was formed by three former members of Days Of The New: Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt Taul, with the addition of Merge singer, Hugo Ferreira. They were signed to Maverick Records in 1999, and recorded their self-titled debut with producer Toby Wright in 2000. The record was released in February 2001 and went platinum thanks to the strength of the single "Breakdown" and the band’s extensive touring with the likes of Kid Rock and Creed. Tantric’s second Wright produced album, After We Go, was released in February 2004, preceded by the single "Hey Now." Described as heavier than their first record, After We Go debuted at #56 on the Billboard 200. Between 2005 and 2007, Vest, Whitener and Taul all decided to move on from Tantric, leaving lead singer Hugo Ferreira to start the search for a new band. Ferreira enlisted former Fuel drummer Kevin Miller, Joe Pessia (guitarist Dramagods), Erik Leonhardt (bassist), and Marcus Ratzenboeck (electric violin) as new members of the band. Shortly thereafter, Tantric announced their deal with the Silent Majority Group record label, and their new management company, JHMP.

Forget Metallica album sales, Kirk Hammett focuses future on surf clothing line

Kirk Hammett, lead guitarist for METALLICA has become an avid surfer in the past few years and as the band is nearing completion on their upcoming album "Death Magnetic" is it possible Kirk and his wife Lani are thinking about business endeavors outside Metallica?
Hammett recently revealed he has had initial thoughts of starting a clothing line geared toward the surfing industry: "I’ve actually thought of a sportswear line, surf clothing line. I have the name and it’s so good I’m not even going to tell you guys. But yeah, I have big plans. Whether they actually find the time to actually come to the surface remains to be seen."
Metallica are in the final stages of their highly anticipated album "Death Magnetic" which is set for release September 16th. The band has enlisted the services of producer extraordinaire Rick Rubin and the band will be releasing the album as a box set dubbed ‘The Coffin Box’ which contains a Documentary DVD, bonus tracks and collectibles for their fans. Metallica are currently touring Europe in support of "Death Magnetic".

Is new country album from Marilyn Manson really joke

Is new country album from Marilyn Manson really joke

this is a BLATANT joke, and that should be clear to anyone who reads the whole thing, including some of Manson’s "new lyrics".

That said, I agree with the guy above who mentioned Hank 3. Hank 3 is a country artist who is a LaVey Satanist/atheist, grew up on punk rock/metal/old outlaw country and played bass for Superjoint Ritual. He also wrote the lyrics "I’m here to put the dick in dixie, and the cunt back in country, cuz the kind of country I’m hearing nowadays is a bunch of fucking shit to me"…..and you listen to the guitar style in his songs, none of this modern "pop-country" sounds anything like it…….classic. Basically, what Marilyn is to rock, Hank 3 is to country.

I like stuff like Johnny Cash and Hank 3. Or southern rock like ZZ Top.

Not all "country" is as much of a pussified tool as the Alan Jacksons and Kenny Chesneys you see everywhere.

If Manson did something with Hank 3, it would be fucking awesome.

Metallica explain album title and reveal song track list

Blabbermouth) METALLICA has revealed the official track listing (in the final running order) for its new album, "Death Magnetic". It is as follows: 01. That Was Just Your Life 02. The End Of The Line 03. Broken, Beat & Scarred 04. The Day That Never Comes 05. All Nightmare Long 06. Cyanide 07. The Unforgiven III 08. The Judas Kiss 09. Suicide & Redemption 10. My Apocalypse

Frontman James Hetfield explained the meaning of the record’s title, saying, "It started out as kind of a tribute to people that have fallen in our business, like (Alice In Chains frontman) Layne Staley and a lot of the people that have died, basically — rock and roll martyrs of sorts. And then it kind of grew from there. Thinking about death…just like a magnet, some people are drawn towards it, (and) other people are afraid of it and push away."

Hetfield added, "The concept that we’re all gonna die sometimes is over-talked about and then a lot of times never talked about — no one wants to bring it up; it’s the big white elephant in the living room. But we all have to deal with it at some point." - more on this story
