Velvet Revolver have been without a lead singer since Scott Weiland left to reunite with Stone Temple Pilots, and have reportedly been having problems finding a new one (Sebastian Bach and Royston Langdon have been rumored as replacements). So much trouble in fact, that the band’s record label, RCA, has opted to drop them instead of waiting for them to find a new singer.

The band, featuring former Guns N’ Roses members Duff McKagan, Slash, and Matt Sorum, had been a moderately successful band (their 2004 debut Contraband moved 1.98 million units), but their 2007 album flopped (titled Libertad, it only moved 301,000 copies), and the band’s egos clashes with Weiland resulting in the break-up.

What this means for Velvet Revolver is uncertain (a folding of the band seems likely) but it clears the road for a full-on Guns N’ Roses reunion tour in 2009 (unlikely). [Blabbermouth]
