Sebastian Bach confirms he is not joining Velvet Revolver for new album
DETROIT — Sebastian Bach has plenty of musical activity on his plate — but joining Velvet Revolver is not part of the mix.
The former Skid Row singer, who was among the early names rumored to be taking Scott Weiland’s place, said his close friendship with former Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose — who sang on three tracks on Bach’s 2007 solo album, “Angel Down” — and a focus on his own music would making joining Velvet Revolver “awkward” at best.
But he did confirm that VR guitarist Slash did contact him “out of the blue … to talk to me about working together, but it was not Velvet Revolver. It was a completely different project, and I can’t tell you what it is ’cause it’s mind-blowing, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy on that. But nothing’s happening right now with me and him.”
Bach certainly has plenty to keep him busy until anything happens with Slash, though. He’s preparing to re-release “Angel Down” as an FYE exclusive, packaged with a DVD that includes five live performances and a documentary titled “Road Rage.” “People want more than just a CD these days,” Bach notes, “and I have all this footage, so why put it out there?” He’s also planning for the album’s first British release on July 21.
And while he’ll be on the road this summer with Poison and Dokken, Bach is also looking towards his next project — which may include some songs written with Hatebreed’s Jamie Jasta, who he’s often identified as a current favorite in interviews.
“He’s sent me four songs that I’m working on, and we definitely plan to work together in the future,” Bach said. “I love the fist-in-the-air kind of anthem songs, and Jamie seems incredible at writing those kinds of songs, too.”
Bach’s other endeavor of late is the CMT reality show “Gone Country 2,” during which he spent time in Nashville writing with Jermaine Jackson, ‘N Sync’s Chris Kirkpatrick and actors Lorenzo Lamas and Sean Young.
Bach, who was previously part of MTV’s “Celebrity Rap Superstar” and VH1’s “SuperGroup,” is prohibited from talking about the results but said that the show will be “a lot of fun to watch — a lot of mayhem, a lot of drunk arguments, only not from me this time.”

Former Universal Staffer Leaked Guns n Roses
by Paul Cashmere - June 26 2008
photo by Ros O’GormanA former employee of Universal Music is behind the leak of the 9 Guns n Roses ‘Chinese Democracy’ tracks last week.
Kevin Skwerl, who used to work in Universal’s distribution department, claims he received the tracks from an anonymous source.
The Universal staffer gave the songs to antiquiet.com who posted them last week for the world to hear.
Axl Rose certainly heard about it and had his lawyers on the case immediately. He also had the FBI investigate the leak and they lobbed at Skwerl’s place.
However, the damage was already done. Despite antiquiet.com taking down the tracks, the songs had already been lifted from the site and now being traded on P2P sites.
Skwerl told Rolling Stone that he isn’t concerned about forthcoming legal action. "It’s a legal grey area since it wasn’t for download, it wasn’t a finished product. We aren’t sure who owns the recordings", he stated. Um, no Kev, that is not exactly right. We do know who does not own the recordings … YOU!
Guns n Roses fans that have heard the album have been emailing Undercover their reviews. We will post more of your comments today.

Who is tougher? Josh Homme of touring Queens of the Stone or Mike Tyson
Some of you may have seen the video of Josh Homme going into a homophobic tirade against an audience member who purportedly threw a shoe at him.
While I sympathize with Homme’s sentiment–I’ve never understood why people throw shit at bands they paid good money to see–his use of "faggot" and threat to "buttfuck you in front of all your friends" is just a wee bit, uh, disturbing?

After Chinese Democracy album, is Axl Rose of Guns N Roses starting to write an autobiography?
Bach insists the singer has got the project well underway and fans will be in for a treat if Rose, a well known perfectionist, ever manages to finish the tome.
The former Skidrow star says, "I was saying to Axl one day, ‘I’m going to write a book.’ He was like, ‘Cool. How many pages you got?’ I go, ‘I’ve got six pages.’ He starts laughing and goes, ‘Yeah, I started my book a while back. I’m up to 12,000 words at this point.’" "He’s very prolific. He’s just not motivated by fame at all. He’s had enough of it. He gets excited by making music, by putting on a concert. Making albums, he loves doing it." Rose has spent the last 13 years working on the latest Guns N’ Roses album, Chinese Democracy, which is now said to be nearing release in 2008.
