Former Universal Staffer Leaked Guns n Roses

photo by Ros O’GormanA former employee of Universal Music is behind the leak of the 9 Guns n Roses ‘Chinese Democracy’ tracks last week.
Kevin Skwerl, who used to work in Universal’s distribution department, claims he received the tracks from an anonymous source.
The Universal staffer gave the songs to antiquiet.com who posted them last week for the world to hear.
Axl Rose certainly heard about it and had his lawyers on the case immediately. He also had the FBI investigate the leak and they lobbed at Skwerl’s place.
However, the damage was already done. Despite antiquiet.com taking down the tracks, the songs had already been lifted from the site and now being traded on P2P sites.
Skwerl told Rolling Stone that he isn’t concerned about forthcoming legal action. "It’s a legal grey area since it wasn’t for download, it wasn’t a finished product. We aren’t sure who owns the recordings", he stated. Um, no Kev, that is not exactly right. We do know who does not own the recordings … YOU!
Guns n Roses fans that have heard the album have been emailing Undercover their reviews. We will post more of your comments today.
