Whitesnake announce Led Zeppelin tour and trashes old Rolling Stones

 

Whitesnake singer David Coverdale may be upping the ante on the hype meter, or he is talking truth. He claims it is almost certain that Led Zeppelin will be embarking on a world tour to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year. He says that Robert Plant was opposed to the idea of Led Zeppelin reuniting but was talked into it by the other original members of the band (guess who).

“I’m expecting a call from Jimmy any day asking my band Whitesnake to support them on their world tour. Am I on board? You bet. Probably worth billions!”

Then Coverdale goes on to trash the Stones:

“Unlike rolling out the wheelchairs with the umpteenth Rolling Stones world tour, a Led Zeppelin tour will be incredible.”

The wheelchairs, eh? Has Coverdale looked at the ages of Led Zeppelin lately? Robert Plant, 59; Jimmy Page, 62; John Paul Jones, 63. And then, of course, add a year for when they finally tour next year.

Now let’s look at the evidence:

Coverdale needs to think twice before he makes a stupid comment about the Stones’ age.

And as far as the Led Zeppelin tour: I know Coverdale’s a good friend with Page and all but.. I will believe it when I see it. When I see Ticketmaster putting up the tickets-go-on-sale date… THEN I will believe it.

Which makes me think: How much would these tickets go for? I am scared to think about it. It will be outrageously expensive, I’m sure.
