Does legacy of albums and tours of Iron Maiden put them into their own category?
Iron Maiden is beyond the most contemporary band of the 21st century. What other heavy metal band from the 80s have not sold out and changed there image. They can still fill a stadium, they are currently touring and they are selling tickets. I saw them live over 30 times. There music is also very articulate, I recomend a non fan to read the lyrics to songs like Alexander The Great. Also if you want to see intensity watch Rock in Rio. Tell me what other music artist today can fill 250000 screaming fans.
Iron Maiden are in a category by themselves, they are not a chessy boy, girl popcorn bublegum franchise. No band in this era can match what IM is. The music indusrty is in the toliet today and its not becuse of illigal downlaoding, p2p, or mp3’s its becuse there is nothing good out. I bought IM last album because i am a passionate fan. With IM there is no such thing as a B side, every one of there songs on there albums are pure perfection.
Final thought IRON MAIDEN are the A listers of heavy metal.

I was fortunate enough to be in Rock in Rio. I see members of Iron Maiden a better influence to kids these days rather than some crappy hip hopper. Apo is right Maiden is in there own category. The lyrics to Iron Maiden is pure poetry, I understand Steve Harris does most of the writing, he obviously is very inteligent and well cultured. My fav lyrics are Rime of the Ancient Mariner, its also a great poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, what other music artist today bases there music off of a similiar theme?
Irons Forever
Thank you for the reply.
I truly belive that Bruce Dickenson is the Andrea Bocelli of heavy metal. Bruce is a pure Renaissance Man. World class fencer, frontman, airline pilot, radio show host, tv presenter and solo artist. His distince singing style is trully remarkable.
Iron Maiden are my favourite band ever, by a very long way. They are all very talented musicians and in my opinion the best in their individual fields.
I have been a fan of theirs for around 15 years now, but arrived fairly late on the gigs front.. The first time I saw them was at Reading in 05, then at Earls Court in 06.
I would have loved to have seen them at Download last year but had holiday booked for Spain during same weekend. Will definately be purchasing the DVD of that particular gig when it finally becomes available.
Have secured my ticket for the Twickenham gig and can’t wait. Will be my third Maiden gig and the biggest along with 50,000 other screaming fans.
Maiden always sound fresh and alive, by that I mean I’m always on the lookout for new bands and tunes but eventually the new bands sound too familiar and I get bored, there are a few execeptions but Maiden always sound amazing and completely blow everyone else away.
WOW the Andrea Bocelli of heavy metal that is an awesome title to describe Bruce. They have said Andrea Bocelli is the voice of a god. Rob Halford may have the title metal god but Bruce in my opinion is right next to him.
Glad that Maiden has survived all the hip hop, pop nu metal fake **** that rulles the music industry these days. The poetry that Iron Maiden is, is very underestimated in the music industry. Its about time the credit for what they are.
