Why Iron Maiden Albums are a like a Glam Heavy Metal Act
Iron Maiden is a "glam heavy metal" act. This is obviously a subjective statement. After all, criticism is usually subjective with minimal focus on the objectivity of the aspects covered by the subject in question. Subjectivity is prevalent, if not dominant, when it comes to music criticism.
The article used as basis for the "A Recent Interview with Iron Maiden Guitarist Dave Murray" did not clearly communicate certain aspects about Iron Maiden.

This is obviously another subjective statement. My apologies for using an article I have failed to completely understand as research material for my "A Recent Interview with Iron Maiden Guitarist Dave Murray" write-up. Anyway, back to the "Iron Maiden is a glam heavy metal act" issue:
1. Glam Rock - screechy guitar solos coupled with 80s rock beats and high-pitched vocal tones. Lyrical content is usually geared towards sex, drugs, and parties. Motley Crue and Guns N Roses are just a few of the most popular glam rock acts in the 80s. Glam rock fashion means spandex, makeup, leather, etc.
2. Heavy Metal - screechy guitar solos bundled with fast-paced 80s rock beats and mid to high-pitched vocal tones. Lyrical content does not usually include the beauty of life, flowers, etc. Fashion means leather and more leather.
3. Iron Maiden Music - screechy guitar solos similar to the guitar licks of 80s heavy metal and glam acts. Guitar riffs are similar yet slow-paced when compared to a few 80s metal bands such as Slayer. High-pitched vocal tones are present in the majority of Iron Maiden’s songs. Iron Maiden fashion can be linked to glam. Lyrical content of most Iron Maiden songs is focused on subjects such as fear, darkness, and death.

You must be out of your mind or have no rock/metal background whatsoever ! Seriously, I am not a die hard Maiden fan but am familiar enough with the metal history here…..Iron Maiden is glam rock ? are Black Sabbath and Judas Priest so too ? the music, the lyrics, the guitars resemble Motley or Poison etc. ?
Metal came from working class England, the music and the whole art around it reflective of that……Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest are the real and only Metal, no trash / glam / death / etc before the Metal, just Metal……..You see the glam with its all definitive name arising to the stage when this type of rock became somewhat popular and hit Los Angeles……….The music, the lyrics, the attitude, the lifestyle of glam is a world difference than the real metal…….

You know it’s better to not lay into the subject because you’re only proving insecurity. I also find it amusing the editor stated “Editor’s note: This is only the opinion of one writer and not the opinion of this site or its affiliated owners”. But even if you try to justify yourself the comments still do not relate to Iron Maiden at all. So if a band doesn’t sing about how good life is they’re glam? Bruce didn’t frequently sing high notes either, I mean AC/DC do and they’re not glam. Such a poor judgement and again, bad writing. Drop the subject and take a step back before you start a war with fans. The way you’re writing you’re making them sound like Poison! I really can’t see Steve in full femanine makeup.

Iron Maiden fans = maidens in Glam leather. Stuck in the eighties? Iron Maiden sux and so do all their fans. PURE GLAM CRAP. They dress like glamorous maidens, so they are. Get a life. All of you.
Listen Maiden Hater, you are entitled to your opinion wrong as it is but I would appreciate it if you kept it to yourself and didn’t personally attack us fans.. Iron Maiden are the best band in the world, in mine and many other people’s opinions. You see its all opinions, and you suck and so do your so called ideas of good music. Maybe in the eighties Maiden had dodgy dress sense, and they are the first to admit that, but didn’t everyone else. It was the days of hair metal, and there were many worse then them. At least Maiden didn’t wear make up and dress like women..
And they certainly don’t now. There aint many bands who can sell as many tickets as them or have such a dedicated fan base. You wanna check your opponents before you start a flame war buddy..
