HIGH ON FIRE: More Music Video Streaming Studio Footage Available; Album Details

HIGH ON FIRE has provided Guitar World Magazine’s newest online venture - MetalKult.com with exclusive video footage of the band in the studio working on and talking about their brand new album Death Is This Communion. Part one of this three part series can be viewed here.

MetalKult.com is backed by one of the highest selling magazines on newsstands and will focus on covering extreme music on the web with daily updates, including live performances, interview videos, news, behind-the-scene concert footage, more in-studio features, such as this HIGH ON FIRE one, and much more. All of the in-studio HIGH ON FIRE footage is courtesy of Daniel Hague and Kill That Cat productions.

Death Is This Communion will see its North American release on September 18 (September 24 internationally). Advance song titles include: “Fury Whip”, “Death is This Communion”, “Rumors of War”, “Cyclopian Scape”, and “Ethereal”.

HIGH ON FIRE will kick off their five-week “Death Is This Communion North American Tour” immediately following the album’s release in San Diego, CA. Joining HIGH ON FIRE for the entirety of the tour are special guests MONO, PANTHERS, and COLISEUM. The tour is being sponsored in part by Decibel Magazine, Jaxprints, and Fixion Media. CEPHALIC CARNAGE: Out Now on the Summer Slaughter Tour; Post New Track

Denver’s CEPHALIC CARNAGE are currently rounding out their run as part of the Summer Slaughter Tour, their first North American tour in support of their brand new album, Xenosapien.

The Summer Slaughter Tour kicked off on June 1st, working its way all across North America selling out venues with its stacked bill of CEPHALIC CARNAGE along with NECROPHAGIST, DECAPITATED, CATTLE DECAPITATION, ION DISSONANCE and more. The tour is being sponsored in part by Revolver Magazine, Ibanez Guitars, Tama Drums, Fixion Media and Jaxprints and is set to conclude on July 8th in New York City.

CEPHALIC drummer John Merryman checks in from the road; “Greetings to everyone supporting the Summer Slaughter tour. We have enjoyed some amazing shows and fans throughout the country thus far and wish to give many thanks to all from the Cephalic camp. We would especially like to thank everyone in Denver who attended the SOLD OUT Summer Slaughter show on June 23. We were blown away by the amount of support and the crowd response to the entire show, and definitely to our set. It felt great to play at home again and we look forward to sharing more live intensities with all our fans. RWAKE: Announce July Tour Dates

RWAKE has announced more U.S. tour dates in support of their brand new album, Voices of Omens.

RWAKE will begin this tour on July 14 in their hometown of Little Rock, AR before embarking on a tour of the North Eastern U.S. Along the way, RWAKE will be sharing stages with the likes of MADE OUT OF BABIES, MOUTH OF THE ARCHITECT, BLOODY PANDA, WOOLY MAMMOTH, and more. RWAKE recently unveiled the first video from Voices of Omens for the track “Leviticus“. The video was shot and directed by Bossi Baker in Arkansas and can be seen here.

MISERY INDEX: Kick Off European Tour; To Release Split 7”; Post New Songs

MISERY INDEX recently kicked-off their five week European tour.

MISERY INDEX are starting the tour teamed up with label-mates COLDWORKER as well as DEW SCENTED, hitting Eastern European countries full force now through July. Among this run of dates are scheduled appearances at festivals such as Never Say Die! / Heat Seeker, HellFest, Tuska Open Air and more.

Immediately following, MISERY INDEX will meet up with MESHUGGAH for a one-off show in Prague before embarking on a solo tour of Western Europe. Festival appearances on this second run will include Mosh City Fest and Eisenwahn Festival among others. A listing of MISERY INDEX tour dates can be found here with more to be announced soon.

Additionally, MISERY INDEX has announced plans for a split 7” with Switzerland’s MUMAKIL for later this year. Record label and release date for this release are still pending. MISERY INDEX recently added new tracks to their MySpace page (www.myspace.com/MISERYINDEX) taken from their last 7”, Hang ‘em High, that was released via Garden of Exile Records this past February.

BIRDS OF PREY Working On New Album

BIRDS OF PREY recently entered Sniper Studio in Moyock, NC to record their second full-length album, Sulfur and Semen.

BIRDS OF PREY teamed up with producer Vince Burke to track a number of new songs and one IRON AND WINE cover. Advance song titles include: “Satisfy the 45”, “Lice Halo”, “Where Black Lungs Don’t Breathe”, and “Turning Big Rocks Into Little Rocks”.

Sulfur and Semen follows up the band’s debut album, Weight of the Wound, and is expected to see a late 2007 / early 2008 release date via Relapse Records.

AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED To Release Limited Edition Split w/ APARTMENT 213

AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED and APARTMENT 213 have teamed up for limited edition split release.

The release, Domestic Powerviolence, is set for a July 10th release date and will be available on CD (while supplies last, limited to 1000) and 12” vinyl. Vinyl colors include red, splatter red/tan, grey, and clear. Domestic Powerviolence features all new tracks from both ANb and APT. 213 as well as artwork rendered by artist Florian Bertmer. Pre-orders are being accepted now for both the CD and LP via Relapse.com.
